Access Manager Appliance 4.0 Service Pack 2 Hotfix 1 Release Notes#

August 2015

The Access Manager Appliance 4.0 Service Pack 2 Hotfix 1 (4.0.2 HF1) supersedes Access Manager Appliance 4.0 Service Pack 2.

1.0 What’s New?#

This release includes the following platform updates and fixed issues:

1.1 Updates for Dependent Components#

In this release, the Java version has been updated to 1.8.0_51. This release also includes fixes for the following:

Upgrading the Java Version#

On Linux:

There are no manual steps required to update the version of Java. After upgrading, the Java version is 1.8.0_51.

On Windows:

To upgrade the Java version, perform the following steps:

  1. Traverse to the C:/Program Files (x86)/Novell/update/HF1 folder.

  2. Open the jre_update_readme.txt file and follow the instructions to manually update Java.

2.0 Upgrading to 4.0.2 HF1#

IMPORTANT:Ensure that you are currently on Access Manager 4.0.2 before upgrading to Access Manager 4.0.2 HF1.

To upgrade Access Manager Appliance 4.0.2 HF1, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to NetIQ Downloads Page.

  2. Under Patches, click Search Patches.

  3. Specify AM_402_HF1.zip in the search box and download the file.

  4. Save the hotfix file to the server running Access Manager. If you have multiple servers in your set up, ensure that you copy this .zip file to all the servers.

  5. Extract the patch file by using the unzip <patch name>.zip command, where <patch filename> is the name of the patch file, for example, AM_402_HF1.   6. Run the sh installPatch.sh command. This command installs the patch and the bundled binaries.

3.0 Verifying Version Numbers#

To ensure that you have the correct version of files before you upgrade to Access Manager 4.0.2 HF1, verify the version of existing Access Manager installation.

Perform the following steps before upgrade:

  1. In the Administration Console, click Access Manager > Auditing > Troubleshooting > Version.

  2. Verify that the Version field displays the following version:

Perform the following steps after update:

  1. In the Administration Console, click Access Manager > Auditing > Troubleshooting > Version.

  2. After upgrade, the Version field must be:
