The Resource Kit contains a Designer project and documentation that walks you through setting up and configuring the same Identity Manager solution that is provided in the VMware image. It allows you to see how all of the components have been installed and configured. If you want to use real hardware instead of a VMware image, leave out any steps that are specific to VMware.
Download the Resource Kit Designer project from the Novell Compliance Management Platform download Web site . The filename is RK12_Project.zip.
Set up a VMware host.
You can use any of the VMware products to create a host. For more information, see the VMware Web site.
Install a SLES 10 SP2 server by using the instructions in the Identity Manager Resource Kit 1.2 Installation Guide for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2.
Install and configure the Identity Manager software components by using the instructions in the Identity Manager Resource Kit 1.2 Installation Guide for the Identity Manager Components.
After following the instructions in the guides, you have the same system that is contained in the VMware image.
