NetIQ LDAP Proxy 1.6

NetIQ LDAP Proxy 1.6 includes new features and resolves several previous issues. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. LDAP Proxy 1.6 provides the following new features, enhancements and fixes in this release:

1.1 New Features

Operating System Support for LDAP Proxy

This release extends support for the following operating systems:

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12 SP5

  • SLES 15 SP2

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.3

  • RHEL 7.9

Operating System Support for NLPManager

This release extends support for the following operating systems:

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12 SP5

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.3

Updates for Third Party Components

This release updates the following third party components:

  • Azul OpenJDK 1.8.0_282

  • OpenSSL 1.0.2x

1.2 New Features

This release introduces the following new feature:

Support for Multi-Factor Authentication

LDAP Proxy 1.6 introduces support for multi-factor authentication powered by the Advanced Authentication Framework. This helps to protect your data using a more advanced way of authentication than the single-factor authentication. After you configure the multi-factor authentication for your LDAP Proxy server, all users enrolled for this method will be authenticated using various authenticators such as Smartphone, TOTP etc. For more information, see Configuring Multi-Factor Authentication for LDAP Proxy in the NetIQ LDAP Proxy 1.6 Installation Guide.

1.3 Enhancements

This release introduces the following enhancement:

Option to Disable CRL Check

This version of LDAP Proxy provides an option to disable the CRL check. For more information, see Configuring Secured Communication Using TLS Parameters in the NetIQ LDAP Proxy 1.6 Administration Guide.

1.4 Fixed Issues

This release includes the following software fixes:

novell-getcore Script is Missing After Installing LDAP Proxy

Issue: The LDAP Proxy installation process fails to lay down the novell-getcore script which is used to analyze the reason of the LDAP Proxy server crash. (Bug 316047)

LDAP Proxy Crashes While Processing the Start TLS Request

Issue: The LDAP Proxy server crashes while processing the Start TLS request. (Bug 297029)

LDAP Proxy Crashes When Auditing Is Enabled

Issue: The LDAP Proxy server configured with TLS crashes when auditing is enabled. (Bug 285378)
