To install iManager on unsupported platforms, add the following entries in the platforms.xml file.
For Linux: <UNZIPPED_iMANAGER_SERVER_RELEASE_ZIP>/iManager/installs/linux/platform/platforms.xml
For Windows: <UNZIPPED_iMANAGER_SERVER_RELEASE_ZIP>/iManager/installs/win/platform/platforms.xml
IMPORTANT:If you install iManager 2.7.6 on an unsupported platform, specify only the operating system (<osName>) in the platforms.xml file and not the product name. For example, if you are installing Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 (Tikanga), the platforms.xml file should contain <osName>Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 </osName>
If you specify the product name, the installer displays an error message stating that the platform is unsupported and the installation will stop.
Following is the sample platforms.xml file for Linux and Windows platforms:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <platforms> <!-- <platform type="linux"> <osName>SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12</osName> <osVersion>SP1</osVersion> <osArch>x86</osArch> </platform> <platform type="linux"> <osName>SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11</osName> <osVersion>SP3</osVersion> <osArch>x86_64</osArch> </platform> <platform type="windows"> <osName>Windows XP</osName> <osVersion>5.1</osVersion> <osArch>x86</osArch> </platform> <platform type="linux"> <osName>SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11</osName> <osVersion>SP5</osVersion> <osArch>x86</osArch> </platform> <platform type="linux"> <osName>Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4</osName> <osVersion>5.4</osVersion> <osArch>x86</osArch> </platform> <platform type="linux"> <osName>Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.2</osName> <osVersion>6.2</osVersion> <osArch>x86</osArch> </platform> --> </platforms>
