NetIQ iManager 3.1 SP2 Release Notes

NetIQ iManager 3.1 SP2 resolves previous issues. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. 1.0 What’s New

iManager 3.1 SP2 provides the following key features, enhancements, and fixes in this release:

This release introduces the following new features:

Updates for Dependent Components

This release adds support for the following components:

  • Azul ZuluOpenJDK 1.8.0_192

  • Tomcat 8.5.32

Operating System Support

In addition to the platforms introduced in previous releases of iManager, this release adds support for the following operating system:

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 15

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.10

Resolved Security Vulnerabilities

This release resolves the following security vulnerabilities:

  • CVE-2018-17949: Cross site scripting vulnerability in iManager prior to 3.1 SP2.

iManager Removes the /etc/init.d/novell-tomcat8 Symbolic Link After Upgrading

Issue: iManager removes the /etc/init.d/novell-tomcat8 symbolic link after upgrading to 3.1 SP1. Due to this, user is unable to start, stop or restart iManager. (Bug 1099556)

2.0 What’s Deprecated?

The following feature is deprecated in this release:

  • Enhanced Nested Group: We have deprecated support for the Nested dynamic groups in eDirectory 9.1.2. Therefore, you will not be able to create Nested dynamic groups using the iManager 3.1.2 Groups plug-in. However, the Nested static groups will continue to be supported.

3.0 System Requirements

NOTE:iManager uses the modified version of XULRunner on Windows. The source code for the modified XULRunner is available under the Mozilla Public License version 2.0. If you need further assistance with any issue, contact Technical Support.

4.0 Installing or Upgrading

To upgrade to iManager 3.1 SP2, you need to be on iManager 2.7.7.x or later.

IMPORTANT:This version of iManager supports only eDirectory 9.1 or above when both are installed on the same machine. If you are upgrading iManager 2.7.7.x to 3.1 SP2, ensure that your eDirectory is also upgraded to 9.1 or above before upgrading iManager.
