iManager 3.0 SP4 Release Notes

iManager 3.0 SP4 resolves specific previous issues. This document outlines why you should install this service pack. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. The following sections outline the enhancement and issue resolved in this release:

1.1 New Features

This release introduces the following new features:

Updates for Dependent Components

This release adds support for the following components:

  • Java 1.8.0_144 (64-bit)

  • Tomcat 8.0.45

1.2 Operating System Support

In addition to the platforms introduced in previous releases of iManager, this release adds support for the following operating system:

  • Windows 2016

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.4

1.3 Fixed Issues

This release includes the following software fixes:

Resolved Security Vulnerability CVE-2017-9276

This version of iManager resolves security vulnerability CVE-2017-9276.

Upgrading iManager Does Not Upgrade RPMs for novell-imanager and novell-plugin-base

Issue: iManager does not upgrade the RPMs for novell-imanager and novell-plugin-base while upgrading the iManager server on Linux. (Bug 870414)

Fix: This issue is fixed.

iManager Displays Warning Message When No Changes Are Made in the Edit User Object Window

Issue: iManager displays a warning message on the edit user object window. This occurs when the user clicks on the Cancel button without making any change to the user object. (Bug 1034833)

Fix: This issue is fixed.

iManager Does Not Displays Any Value for the Timezone Attribute

Issue: iManager displays empty timezone value while modifying an user attribute. (Bug 1028890)

Fix: This issue is fixed.

iManager Displays an Error Message While Checking Status Log

Issue: iManager displays an error message while checking the status log entries of the users. (Bug 1038076)

Fix: This issue is fixed.

iManager Does Not List the Group Members As Set In Object Selector

Issue: iManager does not list the group members as set in the Object Selector under Preferences. (Bug 1042139)

Fix: This issue is fixed.

iManager Does Not Display Any Task After Selecting Multiple Objects

Issue: iManager does not display the list of available tasks once you select multiple objects in the View Objects window. (Bug 1049152)

Fix: This issue is fixed and iManager displays a warning message when multiple objects are selected.

User Cannot Uninstall Plug-Ins from the iManager Workstation

Issue: User cannot uninstall plug-ins from iManager workstation when both iManager 2.7 and 3.0 are installed on the same machine. (Bug 1053408)

Fix: This issue is fixed.

Installation of Plug-Ins for iManager Fails

Issue: Installation of designer plug-ins (eDirectory, PKI and NMAS) fail on iManager. (Bug 1050868)

Fix: This issue is fixed.

iManager Displays an Error Message While Modifying a User Object

Issue: iManager displays an error message while modifying a user object if the Home Directory Path has any special character. (Bug 1039060)

Fix: This issue is fixed.

2.0 System Requirements

NOTE:iManager uses the modified version of XULRunner on Windows. The source code for the modified XULRunner is available under the Mozilla Public License version 2.0. For further assistance, contact Technical Support.

3.0 Installing or Upgrading

To upgrade to iManager 3.0 SP4, you need to be on iManager 2.7.7.x and higher.

IMPORTANT:This version of iManager supports only eDirectory 9.0 or above. If you are upgrading iManager 2.7.7.x to 3.0 SP4, ensure that your eDirectory is also upgraded to 9.0 or above before upgrading iManager when both are installed on the same machine.
