24.1 Checklist for Installing Tomcat and PostgreSQL

NetIQ recommends that you complete the steps in the following checklist:

	Checklist Items
	Learn about the interaction among Identity Manager components. For more information, see the following sections: Section 4.5, Using Single Sign-on Access in Identity Manager Section 4.4, Using Self-Service Password Management in Identity Manager
	Decide which servers you want to use for your Identity Manager components. For more information, see Section 5.3.4, Recommended Server Setup.
	Decide whether you should install NetIQ Event Auditing Service before installing Tomcat or PostgreSQL. For more information, see Section 5.3, Recommended Installation Scenarios and Server Setup.
	Review the considerations for installing the applications to ensure that the computers meet the requirements: Section 24.4, Prerequisites for Installing Tomcat Section 24.3, Prerequisites for Installing PostgreSQL
	Install the applications: For a guided installation, see Section 25.1, Using the Wizard to Install PostgreSQL and Tomcat. For a silent installation, see Section 25.2, Silently Installing Tomcat and PostgreSQL for Identity Manager.
	Install the rest of the Identity Manager components.
