Ensure that you have downloaded the necessary Identity Manager files from the Novell Downloads Web site. For more information, see Section 5.0, Where to Get Identity Manager.
eDirectory 8.8.6 is provided on the Identity Manager media. There are installers for both 32-bit platforms and 64-bit platforms. The location of the installer depends on the platform:
Linux 32-bit: IDM4.0.1_Lin/products/eDirectory/x86/setup/nds-install
Linux 64-bit: IDM4.0.1_Lin/products/eDirectory/x64/setup/nds-install
Solaris 32-bit: IDM4.0.1_Solaris/products/eDirectory/x86/setup/nds-install
Solaris 64-bit: IDM4.0.1_Solaris/products/eDirectory/x64/setup/nds-install
To execute the binary file, enter ./nds-install.
Windows 32-bit: IDM4.0.1_Win:\products\eDirectory\x86\nt\Setup.exe
Windows 64-bit: IDM4.0.1_Win:\products\eDirectory\x64\windows\Setup.exe

NOTE:For Linux and Solaris, you must configure your eDirectory after it is installed before you can install the Metadirectory server. For configuration instructions, see Configuring Novell eDirectory on Linux, Solaris, or AIX Systems
