E.6 Email Based Approval

The Workflow Engine allows you to include identities like users or groups in your workflows to handle activities that cannot be automated, such as approvals for requisitions. The Email Notification system sends notifications to notify approvers, remind approvers, and escalate if there is any delay in approvals. It processes Email responses from users and moves the workflow to the next state. Email notifications can be routed through a role, which can be an individual user or a group of users. Any user associated with that role can act on the notification.

Each notification includes a message that contains all the information a user needs to make a decision. You can embed the message in the body or attach it as a separate document. A user can click Approve or Deny links over the Email. The Workflow Engine interprets each Email response to decide how to move on to the next workflow activity.
