When you subsequently invoke the Search dialog box, Designer remembers your latest search settings.

4.10.1 Best Practices for Search/Replace Operation

This section includes some tips and best practices for using the search and replace operation in Designer:

  • The Search operation can be performed on drivers, filters, policies, and so on. The Replace operation does not work with Provisioning.

  • You can apply filters during your searches. The filter ensures that the replace operation works only for the selected area.

  • Save the project once the replace operation is performed.

  • When you perform a Replace operation on policies or other XML files, then the files will not be validated. NetIQ recommends that the text you use in the Replace field is supported by XML.
