NetIQ Identity Manager User Application Driver 4.8.6.0100 Release Notes

March 2023

This version of the User Application driver resolves specific issues.


1.0 System Requirements

This patch requires NetIQ Identity Manager 4.8.6 at a minimum.


2.0 Installing This Patch

Install this driver patch on the Identity Vault server(s).

2.1 Installing this Patch on a Linux Server
  1. Log in to the Identity Vault server as a root user.

  2. Stop the User Application driver.

  3. Stop the eDirectory service by running the following command:

  4. ndsmanage stopall

  5. Download and unzip the contents of the IDM_UAD_486_P1.zip file to a temporary location on your computer.

  6. Navigate to the <Driver Patch Directory>/Linux/ directory.

  7. Install the new RPM by running the following command:

  8. rpm -Uvh netiq-DXMLuad-4.8.6.0100-0.noarch.rpm

  9. Start the eDirectory service by running the following command:

  10. ndsmanage startall

  11. Start the User Application driver if not already started.

2.2 Installing this Patch on a Windows Server
  1. Navigate to <Identity Vault installation path>\eDirectory\lib folder.

  2. Take a backup of the wssdk.jar file, then delete the file from the folder.

  3. Stop the User Application driver.

  4. Stop the eDirectory service.

  5. Download and unzip the contents of the IDM_UAD_486_P1.zip file to a temporary location on your computer.

  6. Navigate to the <Driver Patch folder>\Windows folder.

  7. Copy the wssdk-4.8.6.0100.jar file to <Identity Vault installation path>\eDirectory\lib folder.

  8. Start the eDirectory service.

  9. Start the User Application driver if not already started.

3.0 Technical Support Information

The following section provides information on the issues fixed in the current and previous releases.

3.1 Issues Fixed in This Release

OCTCR28Q608008:The catalina.log records Swedish characters incorrectly for workflows started automatically by Identity Manager policies and rules.

3.1 Issues Fixed in 4.8.6 Release

OCTCR28Q562001:Upgrades no longer cause the driver to hang when calling Composer WebService: Execute operation.

OCTCR28Q553042:Upgrades no longer cause workflows with Integration activities containing the create role operation to fail.

OCTCR28Q543025:Localization discrepancies in the User Application Driver base package has been fixed.
