NetIQ Identity Manager User Application Driver 4.8.5 Release Notes

This version of the User Application driver resolves specific issues.


1.0 System Requirements

This patch requires NetIQ Identity Manager 4.8.5 at a minimum.


2.0 Installing This Patch

Install this driver patch on the Identity Vault server(s).

2.1 Installing this Patch on a Linux Server

  1. Log in to the Identity Vault server as a root user.

  2. Stop the User Application driver.

  3. Stop the eDirectory service by running the following command:

    4. ndsmanage stopall

  4. Download and unzip the contents of the IDM_UAD_4850.zip file to a temporary location on your computer.

  5. Navigate to the <Driver Patch Directory>/linux/ directory.

  6. Install the new RPM by running the following command:

    7. rpm -Uvh --force netiq-DXMLuad.rpm

  7. Start the eDirectory service by running the following command:

    8. ndsmanage startall

  8. Start the User Application driver if not already started.

2.2 Installing this Patch on a Windows Server

  1. Stop the User Application driver.

  2. Stop the eDirectory service.

  3. Download and unzip the contents of the IDM_UAD_4850.zip file to a temporary location on your computer.

  4. Navigate to the <Driver Patch Directory>/windows directory.

  5. Copy the ComposerDriverShim.jar file to <Identity Vault installation path>\eDirectory\lib directory.

  6. Start the eDirectory service.

  7. Start the User Application driver if not already started.


3.0 Updating the Driver Packages

  1. Open the project containing the User Aplication driver.

  2. Right-click the User Application driver, then click Driver > Properties.

  3. Click Packages.

    4. A check mark indicates a newer version of a package in the Upgrades column.

  4. Click Select operation against the NOVLUABASE_4.8.4.20210706230504.jar package.

  5. From the drop-down list, click Upgrade.

  6. Select the version that you want to upgrade to, then click OK.

    7. NOTE: Designer lists all versions available for upgrade.

  7. Click Apply.

  8. (Conditional) Fill in the fields with appropriate information to upgrade the package, then click Next.

    9. Depending on which package you selected for upgrade, you must fill in the required information appropriately to upgrade the package.

  9. Read the summary of the packages that will be installed, then click Finish.

  10. Review the upgraded package, then click OK to close the Package Management page.

  11. Deploy the changes and restart the driver.

  12. Restart the eDirectory service.

3.1 Issues Fixed in This Release

Defect 231618: The DirXML-EntitlementResult attribute has a high value.
