NetIQ Identity Manager Data Collection Service Driver 4.2.1 Patch 1 Release Notes

NetIQ Identity Manager Data Collection Service Driver 4.2.1.0100 release resolves specific issues.


1.0 System Requirements

This patch requires NetIQ Identity Manager 4.8.5 at a minimum.


2.0 Installing This Patch

Perform the following steps to install this patch.

2.1 Installing this Patch on a Linux Server
  1. (Conditional) If the driver is running locally, stop the Identity Vault.

  2. (Conditional) If the driver is running with a Remote Loader instance, stop the Remote Loader instance and the driver instance.

  3. Download and unzip the contents of the IDM_DCS_4.2.1_P1.zip file to a temporary location on your computer.

  4. Navigate to the <location where you extracted the IDM_DCS_4.2.1_P1.zip file>/linux directory.

  5. Install the new RPM by running the following command:

  6. rpm -Uvh novell-DXMLdcs.rpm

  7. (Conditional) If the driver is running locally, start the eDirectory service by running the following command:

  8. ndsmanage startall

  9. (Conditional) If the driver is running with a Remote Loader instance, start the Remote Loader instances.

  10. Start the DCS driver.

2.2 Installing this Patch on a Windows Server
  1. Take a back-up of the current driver configuration.

  2. (Conditional) If the driver is running locally, stop the Identity Vault.

  3. (Conditional) If the driver is running with a Remote Loader instance, stop the Remote Loader instance and the driver instance.

  4. Download and unzip the contents of the IDM_DCS_4.2.1_P1.zip file to a temporary location on your computer.

  5. Navigate to the <location where you extracted the IDM_DCS_4.2.1_P1.zip file>\windows directory.

  6. Copy the dcsshim.jar file to <Identity Vault installation path>\eDirectory\lib directory.

  7. (Conditional) If the driver is running locally, start the eDirectory service.

  8. (Conditional) If the driver is running with a Remote Loader instance, start the Remote Loader instances.


3.0 Updating the Driver Packages

  1. Open the project containing the Data Collection Service driver.

  2. Right-click the Data Collection Service driver, then click Driver > Properties.

  3. Click Packages.
  4. A check mark indicates a newer version of a package in the Upgrades column.

  5. Click Select operation against the NOVLIDMDCSB_2.4.1.20211119145811.jar package.

  6. From the drop-down list, click Upgrade.

  7. Select the version that you want to upgrade to, then click OK.
  8. NOTE: Designer lists all versions available for upgrade.

  9. Click Apply.

  10. (Conditional) Fill in the fields with appropriate information to upgrade the package, then click Next.
  11. Depending on which package you selected for upgrade, you must fill in the required information appropriately to upgrade the package.

  12. Read the summary of the packages that will be installed, then click Finish.

  13. Review the upgraded package, then click OK to close the Package Management page.

  14. Deploy the changes and restart the driver.
