The following prerequisites must be met before starting the tasks in Synchronizing Passwords or Password Self-Service.
Make sure you have a functioning Identity Manager system in place. To do so, complete the tasks in the NetIQ Identity Manager Setup Guide for Linux.
Make sure you have reviewed Section 1.0, Understanding Password Management and understand the concepts associated with password synchronization and password self-service.
Deploy Universal Password. Universal Password coordinates the different types of Identity Vault passwords (simple, NDS, enhanced), enables synchronization of the passwords with connected systems, and supports password self-service.
