NetIQ Identity Manager Role and Resource Service Driver 4.7.4.0 Release Notes

Role and Resource Service Driver 4.7.4.0 for NetIQ Identity Manager 4.7 resolves previous issues.

1.0 System Requirements

This hotfix requires NetIQ Identity Manager 4.7.3 or later

2.0 Installing This Hotfix

Install this hotfix on the Identity Vault server(s).

2.1 Installing this Hotfix on a Linux Server
  1. Log in to the Identity Vault server as a root user.

  2. Stop the User Application and Role and Resource Service drivers.

  3. Stop the eDirectory service by running the following command:

  4. ndsmanage stopall

  5. Download and unzip the contents of the IDM47_RRSD_4740.zip file to a temporary location on your computer.

  6. Install the new RPMs by running the following command:

  7. rpm -U <Driver Patch Directory>/linux/netiq-DXMLrrsd.rpm

  8. Start the eDirectory service by running the following command:

  9. ndsmanage startall

  10. Start the User Application and Role and Resource Service drivers if not already started.

2.2 Installing this Hotfix on a Windows Server
  1. Stop the User Application and Role and Resource Service drivers.

  2. Stop the eDirectory service.

  3. Download and unzip the contents of the IDM47_RRSD_4740.zip file to a temporary location on your computer.

  4. Navigate to the extracted folder and copy the nrfdriver.jar file to <Identity Vault installation path>\eDirectory\lib directory.

  5. Start the eDirectory service.

  6. Start the User Application and Role and Resource Service drivers if not already started.


3.0 Updating the Driver Packages

  1. Open the project containing the Role and Resource Service driver.

  2. Right-click the Roles and Resource Service driver, then click Driver > Properties.

  3. Click Packages.
  4. A check mark indicates a newer version of a package in the Upgrades column.

  5. Click Select operation against the required package.

  6. From the drop-down list, click Upgrade.

  7. Select the version that you want to upgrade to, then click OK.
  8. NOTE: Designer lists all versions available for upgrade.

  9. Click Apply.

  10. (Conditional) Fill in the fields with appropriate information to upgrade the package, then click Next.
  11. Depending on which package you selected for upgrade, you must fill in the required information appropriately to upgrade the package.

  12. Read the summary of the packages that will be installed, then click Finish.

  13. Review the upgraded package, then click OK to close the Package Management page.

  14. Deploy the changes and restart the driver.
