By default, the Bidirectional eDirectory driver files are installed on the Metadirectory server at the same time as the Metadirectory engine. The installation program extends the Identity Vault’s schema and installs the driver shim. It does not create the driver in the Identity Vault (see Section 4.0, Creating a New Driver Object).
If you performed a custom installation and did not install the Bidirectional eDirectory driver on the Metadirectory server, you must install the files on the Metadirectory server, using the instructions in Preparing to Install the Engine, Drivers, and Plug-ins
in the NetIQ Identity Manager Setup Guide.
For the Bidirectional eDirectory driver to work, you must also install the change log module on the connected system (eDirectory). For information about Change-Log installation, see Installing the Change-Log Module on a Remote eDirectory server.
