9.0 Using Time Machine

Time Machine displays the status of an LDAP object at different points in time. You can choose a source for the object, which is OpenText eDirectory by default, and specify the time interval for capturing the snapshots. Based on the interval, the Time Machine creates a timeline of the snapshots, which you can use to track the changes made to the object over time.

After creating a timeline, you can use the History Browser option to perform the following actions:

  • Search for an object, view detailed information about that object, and changes made to its attributes.

  • View audit events in the timeline if enabled.

  • Use the Object Compare tool to compare snapshots and audit events of individual objects at various times, allowing you to see the differences.

  • Export the state of an object from any time in history in CSV or LDIF file format.
