OpenText™ Identity Console CE 24.4 (v1.9) Release Notes

OpenText Identity Console 24.4 (v1.9) added various new features and resolved several previous issues. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. 1.0 What’s New?

This release provides the following updates:

1.1 Supported Operating System

This release adds support for the following platforms:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.8, 8.9, 8.10, 9.2, 9.3, and 9.4

  • SUSE Linus Enterprise Server (SLES) 15 SP3, SP4, SP5, and SP6

  • In Docker: Red Hat Universal Base Image 9.5

1.2 Supported Browsers

This release supports the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • Microsoft Edge

1.3 Branding Changes

Micro Focus is now part of OpenText. To adhere to the OpenText brand, the name of the product, logos, company name references, and documentation are updated. The OpenText versioning mechanism uses the CY.Q (Calendar Year.Quarter) format. Starting from the 1.9 release, OpenText Identity Console adheres to the OpenText versioning convention. NetIQ Identity Console 1.9 is known as OpenText™ Identity Console CE 24.4 (v1.9).

1.4 Support for TLS 1.3 and OpenSSL 3.0

OpenText Identity Console uses the latest TLS protocols with OpenSSL 3.0 for a secure communication over the network with OpenText eDirectory and other applications. For more information, see Configuring LDAP Objects.

1.5 CA Certificate Auto-fetch

While installing OpenText Identity Console, you can now enable auto-fetching of the CA certificate. It allows the system to copy the CA certificate automatically to the cert folder while logging in to the OpenText Identity Console. 1.6 Configuring Port Number for OpenText Identity Console Workstation on Windows

While installing OpenText Identity Console Workstation on Windows, you can configure the port number in the edirapi_win.conf file by editing the listen parameter with the desired port for the product to listen. For more information, see Installing OpenText Identity Console Workstation on Windows.

1.7 Updates for Dependent Components

This release supports the following components:

  • OpenSSL 3.0.15

  • NICI 3.3.0

1.8 Security Vulnerability Fixes

This release resolves OpenText Identity Console security issues which addresses software version disclosure, missing security headers, CORS arbitrary origin, and authorization bypass.

Fix: Users are able to connect to the tree with the new CA Certificates.

OpenText Identity Console shows duplicates of driver mapping tables instead of correct list of driver mapping tables.

Fix: The Driver Mapping tables now displays unique values.

OpenText Identity Console incorrectly modifies the Authentication ID parameter of an IDM Driver.

Fix: The Authentication ID is updated correctly after the form for the IDM Driver is saved.

In OpenText Identity Console Custom Forms, users cannot add the same number of attribute as iManager

Fix: Users can add the same number of attributes as iManager.

The Driver status view is broken if browser is set to the language other than English.

Fix: Displays the driver status in all the languages that the OpenText Identity Console supports.

The drop-down list in Index Management disappears only when you click the drop-down list arrow.

Fix: User do not have to click the list arrow to close the drop-down list.

IDM Usage Metrics and IDM Driver Distribution charts are unreadable if the results shows more than seven of any driver types.

Fix: User can seamlessly search for a driver and see all the driver details.

Identity Console Dashboard

The Work Order filter disappears in detailed view.

Fix: The Work Order filter is displayed in detailed view and the drop-down has all the correct values.

Identity Console -IDM

In OpenText Identity Manager Administration, Email Server Options require userId and password to save settings.

Fix: From OpenText Identity Console 1.9, you can choose to enable or disable the Authenticate to the server by using credentials check box and save the configuration.

Object Management

When searching for "specific CN" with "ALL Available Type", the search filter will be set to "some Objectclasses" but not "all" which leads to missing results.

Fix: User can select “All Available Types” filter and search all different types of classes and attributes.

Newly created WorkOrder object contains two "cn" attributes

Fix: WorkOrder object creates a single “cn” attribute.

Group Management

OpenText Identity Console breaks if LDAP or eDir mapping is not set up for custom classes and attributes.

Fix: User can map the LDAP attribute and use them for advance search.

Partition Management

OCTCR56A656001

Error adding or converting SubRef to Read or Write replica in the Replica View page.

Fix: SUBREF is not allowed to edit or delete to prevent errors.

Certificate Management

OCTCR56A675039

Unable to send email from OpenText Identity Manager 4.8.7 due to failure in certificate verification.

Fix: In OpenText Identity Console 1.9, you can send email from OpenText Identity Manager without a certificate verification error.

Log in to the Software License and Download page and follow the instructions provided on the page to download the software. OpenText provides a tar.gz or.zip file to install OpenText Identity Console.

For Docker:
