NetIQ Identity Console 1.6 Release Notes

NetIQ Identity Console 1.6 add various new features and resolves several previous issues. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. We hope you continue to help us ensure our products meet all your needs.

This release notes have the following sections:

1.0 What’s New

Identity Console 1.6 provides the following updates in this release:

1.1 Supported Browsers

Identity Console 1.6 supports the latest version of the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome.

  • Mozilla Firefox.

  • Microsoft Edge.

1.2 Software Fixes

Identity Console 1.6 includes the following software fixes:

LDAP Server Parameters are Displayed Rightly

Identity Console is improvised and fixed to display the LDAP parameters properly as in iManager. (Defect: 525030)

1.3 New Features

Identity Console 1.6 comes with the following new features:

Role and Access Control

This version of Identity Console comes with Role and Access Control (RAC) which gives you the ability to assign specific responsibilities to users and to present them with the tools (and their accompanying rights) that are necessary to perform those sets of responsibilities. Contextless Login

This version of Identity Console comes with Contextless Login feature. The Contextless Login feature makes it easier for users to log in with a user-name and password, without knowing their user object context. For more information see: Identity Console Admin Guide.

Customized Branding

This version of Identity Console comes with customized branding, where you can add your company favicon, name, or product name to the address bar of the administration console. For more information see: Customized Branding.

1.4 System Requirements

2.0 Installing or Upgrading

Log in to the Software License and Download page and follow the instructions provided on the page to download the software. NetIQ provides a tar.gz or .zip file to install Identity Console.

3.0 Supported Upgrade Paths

4.0 Known Issues

NetIQ Corporation strives to ensure our products provide quality solutions for your enterprise software needs. The following issues are currently being researched. If you need further assistance with any issue, please contact Technical Support.

4.1 Tile Level Access

Issue: Users cannot access a few of the tasks without having permission for their respective tiles. When Identity Manager Related Tasks are Assigned, Tile Level Access is Missing. (Defect: 613112)

Workaround: The IDM Administration Overview task is mandatory for a user to get access to the following tasks:

  • AssociationStatistics

  • VersionDiscoveryTool

  • AssociationStatistics

  • VersionDiscoveryTool

The Identity Manager Administration Overview or Driver Table View tasks are mandatory for a user to get access for the following tasks:

  • InspectDriver

  • InspectDriverCache

  • InspectHealthConfig

  • OutofBandSyncCacheInspector

4.2 Importing Custom Roles

Issue: Custom Roles cannot be imported. The team is working on this. (Defect:640003)

4.3 Custom Role Creation

Issue: When a Member is associated with a group, the creation of a Custom Role is limited.(Defect: 618010)

4.4 Edit Configuration Owner Limitation

Issue: Configuration Owner cannot add or delete other users at Edit Configuration Owner. At present only the Administrator can do it. (Defect:613017)

4.5 Tree Root Selection Scope

Issue: Tree Root cannot be selected as Scope while creating Configurations. (Defect:611028)

4.6 External Certificate Issue

Issue: While using Identity Console against eDirectory versions (prior to 9.2.8) and when an external certificate is viewed by Identity Console 1.6, the eDirectory is crashing.
