NetIQ eDirectory 9.1 SP3 Release Notes

NetIQ eDirectory 9.1 SP3 resolves several previous issues. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. 1.0 What’s New?

eDirectory 9.1 SP3 provides the following operating system support and fixes in this release:

1.1 Operating System Support

In addition to the platforms supported in previous releases of eDirectory, this release adds support for the following operating system:

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12 SP4

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.6

1.2 Updates for Third Party Components

This release updates the following thirst party components:

  • Zlib 1.2.11

  • OpenSLP Latest Patches

  • Net-SNMP 5.8

1.3 Fixed Issues

eDirectory 9.1 SP3 includes the following software fixes that resolve several previous issues:

eDirectory Displays Error -6030

Issue: eDirectory displays error -6030 in multiple occasions. (Bug 1096993)

eDirectory Fails to Send NMAS Events When Journal Event Caching Is Enabled

Issue: eDirectory fails to deliver NMAS events when Journal Event Caching is enabled. (Bug 1125347)

eDirectory Fails to Backup Certain Objects Using the ndsbackup Utility

Issue: eDirectory fails to backup certain objects using the ndsbackup utility without displaying an appropriate error message. (Bug 1123056)

Memory Leak Is Observed While Searching With cn=monitor

Issue: Memory leak is observed when the cn=monitor searches run in a loop. (Bug 1118272)

eDirectory Crashes While Expanding the Nested or Dynamic Groups

Issue: eDirectory crashes while expanding the Nested or Dynamic groups along with few LDAP controls. (Bug 1111235)

eDirectory Reports High CPU Utilization While Using the XDAS Auditing Module

Issue: High CPU utilization is observed when eDirectory uses the XDAS auditing module. (Bug 1097642)

ndsrepair Utility Fails to Re-Build the DIB

Issue: ndsrepair utility fails to re-build the DIB once it is broken. (Bug 1087022)

1.4 Supported Upgrade Paths

To upgrade to eDirectory 9.1 SP3, you need to be on eDirectory 8.8.8.x or above. For more information on upgrading eDirectory, see the NetIQ eDirectory Installation Guide.

2.0 What’s Deprecated?

NDSD_AGENT_CONTEXT_OPTIMIZATION environment variable will not be operational with eDirectory 9.1 SP3. This environment variable will be made operational in the upcoming releases.

3.0 What will be Deprecated?

The following feature will be deprecated in the upcoming eDirectory 9.2 release:

  • Auditing with XDAS: We will be deprecating support for auditing with XDAS in 9.2. We recommend you to use CEF for auditing.

4.0 System Requirements

NOTE:This version of eDirectory supports Identity Manager 4.6.x and 4.7.x.

5.0 Installing or Upgrading

To upgrade to eDirectory 9.1 SP3, you need to be on eDirectory 8.8.8.x or 9.x. For more information on upgrading eDirectory, see the NetIQ eDirectory Installation Guide.
