12.10 Linux Settings

The Linux Settings tab is available for workload templates that use a Linux operating system. The fields that you can modify depend on the zone type (Cloud Manager Orchestration Server (CMOS), Amazon EC2 (EC2), or OpenStack).

The Edit dialog lets you view settings and change settings if necessary. Any settings you cannot change are disabled.

To modify the Linux settings for a workload template:

  1. On the main navigation bar, click Catalog.

  2. On the Workload Templates tab, select the workload template, then click Edit.

    or

    Double-click the template.

  3. On the Linux Settings tab (if it is displayed), personalize the Linux settings for the workload template based on the zone type:

    CMOS zone: Modify the Domain Settings:

    • Hostname: Specify the host name to assign to the virtual machine.

    • Domain Name: Specify the domain for the virtual machine (for example, netiq.com or provo.netiq.com).

    EC2 zone: Modify the Installation Settings:

    • Cloud-init Configuration: Specify the appropriate settings.

    OpenStack zone: Modify the Installation Settings:

    • Cloud-init Configuration: Specify the appropriate settings.

  4. Click OK.
