12.3 Troubleshooting vSphereUpdater Connections to vCenter

You can improve reliability for the vSphereUpdater connection with VMware vCenter by providing custom values for the read timeout (readTimeout) and maximum retry attempts (max.retry.attempts) job arguments for vSphereUpdate Scheduled Jobs. These options enable vSphereUpdater to recover after a VMware vCenter crash or reboot.

To set the readTimeout and max.retry.attempts values for vSphereUpdate scheduled jobs:

  1. Log in to the Orchestration Server Console.

  2. In the Job Scheduler, select the vSphereUpdate schedule.

  3. Select the Job Arguments tab.

  4. Specify the readTimeout value (in seconds).

  5. Specify the max.retry.attempts value.

  6. (Optional) Lock the options by selecting their Lock check boxes to perpetuate your preferred settings.
