The following are key processes that are used to validate the agent services installation and methods used for start and stop the agent services:
detectd: Performs monitoring tasks and data retrieval. The behavior of this process is directed by the content of the detect.xml file.
Nqmagt: Monitors the status of the other Agent processes and restarts them if necessary. This process should run continuously after the Agent is installed.
rclink: Starts the Agent processes immediately after the deployment process and adds a startup script to the /etc/rc.d directory. This startup script starts the Agent processes after each reboot when the master rc script runs. This is the default method, and should be used in nearly all environments.
inetd: Starts the Agent processes immediately after the deployment process and adds an entry to the /etc/inittab file. This inittab file entry starts the Agent processes at the default run level after each reboot.
