You must be logged in as the root user to remove the endpoint package. Do not use the RPM command to remove the Cobalt endpoint.
Stop the endpoint program if it is running.
Enter the following command at a command prompt:
/bin/sh /var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers/endpoint-5.1.uninst
NOTE:The actual command depends on the version of the endpoint installed. If you have a different version installed, for instance version 5.0, run the endpoint-5.0.uninst command instead.
After the endpoint-5.1.uninst script has completed, enter the following command:
/usr/admserv/cgi-bin/.cobalt/install/install.cgi
At the prompt, press [Ctrl] + [D]. The endpoint has been removed.
If anything goes wrong during the process of uninstalling the endpoint, a reinstalled endpoint may not run. You may need to do some extra cleanup. Check for the hidden file /usr/local/NetIQ/.NETIQ.ENDPOINT.PID by using the ls -a command. Enter the following:
rm /usr/local/NetIQ/.NETIQ.ENDPOINT.PID
