4.5 Synchronizing the UNIX Agent Encryption File for UNIX Agent Version 7.1

If you are using UNIX agent version 7.1, you might need to synchronize the encryption file. You do not need this for UNIX agent 7.2.

UNIX Agent Manager generates an encryption file, psekfile, that it shares with the agent. To manage an agent from UNIX Agent Manager, the encryption file on the agent must be synchronized with Agent Manager. The encryption file is automatically synchronized when you deploy the agent using the Agent Manager Deployment wizard.

If you manually install the agent by running the agent installation script on the local computer or performing a non-interactive (silent) installation, the encryption file is not created automatically. Therefore, you must manually synchronize the encryption file on the agent.

In the agent summary table, if the encryption file is synchronized between UNIX Agent Manager and the agent, Agent Manager column in the agent summary table is green and displays the version of the communication protocol used by the agent.

If the encryption file is missing from the agent or was generated by a different Agent Manager, Agent Manager column of the agent summary table displays a yellow Keyfile error status.
