Use this Knowledge Script to monitor the number of available system (PCI) slots. This script raises an event if the number of available system slots falls below the threshold you set.
PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) slots allow different types of expansion cards to be connected inside a computer to extend the computer’s functionality. Examples of PCI expansion cards are network cards, graphics cards, and sound cards.
Windows 2003 Server or later
The default interval for this script is Every 24 hours.
Set the following parameters as needed:

Set to y to collect data for charts and reports. If enabled, data collection returns the number of system slots that were available during the monitoring period. The default is n. |
Threshold - Minimum number of available system slots |
Specify minimum number of system slots that must be available to prevent an event from being raised. The default is 1 slot. |
Event severity when available system slots fall below threshold |
Set the event severity level, from 1 to 40, to indicate the importance of an event in which the number of available system slots falls below the threshold. The default is 5 (red event indicator). |
