4.28 Processes

Use this Knowledge Script to monitor the number of active processes. This script raises an event if the number of active processes exceeds the threshold you specify. In addition, this script generates datastreams for active processes.

The default schedule for this script is Every 30 minutes.

4.28.3 Setting Parameter Values

Set the following parameters as needed:

How to Set It

Raise event?

Set to y to raise an event if the number of active processes exceeds the threshold. The default is y.

Collect data?

Set to y to collect data for charts and reports. The default is n.

Maximum total processes threshold

Specify the maximum number of active processes allowed before an event is raised. The default is 80.

Number of top processes to be displayed

Specify the number of top processes to display in the detail event or data message. Type 0 to display all processes. The default is 10.

Event severity level

Set the event severity level, from 1 to 40, to indicate the importance of an event in which the number of active processes exceeds the threshold. The default is 5 (red event indicator).
