Use this Knowledge Script to monitor the number of files that are opened by a process in the system.

Event severity when job fails |
Set the event severity level, from 1 to 40, to reflect the importance of the event that is raised when the OpenFiles job fails. The default is 5. |
List of processes (comma-separated) |
Enter the list of comma-separated process names for which you want to monitor the number of files opened by the processes. |
Event detail format |
Select the format in which to view the event detail. The default is HTML Table. |
Enable debugging? |
Select Yes to enable debugging. The default is unselected. |
Raise event when AppManager fails to get metrics? |
Select Yes to raise an event if AppManager fails to retrieve the metrics. The default is Yes. |
Event severity |
Set the event severity level, from 1 to 40, to indicate the importance of an event in which AppManager fails to retrieve the metrics. The default is 5. |
Event Settings |

Raise event if open file count exceeds threshold? |
Select Yes to raise an event if the open file count threshold is exceeded. The default is Yes. |

Enter the open file count threshold with a maximum value of 99999. The default is 800. |
Severity |
Set the severity level, from 1 to 40, to indicate the importance of an event when the number of files opened by a process exceeds the threshold. The default is 15. |

Collect data for open file count? |
Select Yes to collect data for charts, graphs, and reports for the open file count data. When selected, this script returns the average number of files opened by processes that matched the specified process name. The default is unselected. NOTE:
