4.3 ASMDiskUtilization

Use this Knowledge Script to monitor the ASM disk free space, the percentage of ASM disk space, or both.

This Knowledge Script is supported on Oracle 11gR2 and Oracle 12c.

4.3.1 Resource Objects

Oracle RAC ASM Disk Group resource objects under Shared Resources. When you drop a script on an Oracle RAC ASM Diskgroup resource object, a job executes on any ASM Instance.

4.3.2 Default Schedule

The default interval for this script is Every hour.

4.3.3 Setting Parameter Values

Set the following parameters as needed:

General Settings

Cluster(s) to exclude

Enter the cluster names to exclude with a comma (,) between each cluster name, to exclude the cluster from all jobs.

ASM disk group(s) to exclude.

Enter the ASM disk groups to exclude with a comma (,) between each ASM disk group name, to exclude the ASM disk group from all jobs.

Event severity when job fails

Set the event severity level, from 1 to 40, to indicate the importance of the event. The default is 5 (red event indicator).

Event detail format

Select one of the following formats in which to view all events:

  • HTML Table

  • Plain Text

The default is HTML Table.

Enable debugging?

Select Yes to enable debugging. The default is unselected.

Raise event when AppManager fails to get metrics?

Select Yes to raise an event when AppManager fails to get the metrics. The default is Yes.

Event severity

Set the event severity level, from 1 to 40, to indicate the importance of the event. The default is 5 (red event indicator).

Event Settings

Raise event when percentage of ASM Disk space usage exceeds threshold?

Select Yes to raise an event if the percentage of the ASM disk space exceeds the threshold. The default is Yes.

Threshold - Maximum percentage of space used

Enter a threshold for the maximum percentage the ASM disk space can reach before AppManager raises an event. The default is 80.

Severity

Set the event severity level, from 1 to 40, to indicate the importance of the event. The default is 5 (red event indicator).

Raise event if ASM Disk free space is below threshold?

Select Yes to raise an event if the ASM disk free space falls below the threshold. The default is unselected.

Threshold - Minimum free space

Enter a threshold for the minimum free disk space can reach (in GB) before AppManager raises an event. The default is 5.

Severity

Set the event severity level, from 1 to 40, to indicate the importance of the event. The default is 5 (red event indicator).

Data Collection

Collect data for percentage of ASM Disk space usage?

Select Yes to collect data for the percentage of ASM disk space usage. The default is Yes.

Collect data for ASM Disk free space?

Select Yes to collect data for ASM disk free space. The default is unselected.
