Known Issues
NetIQ, now part of Attachmate Corporation, strives to ensure that our products
provide quality solutions
for your enterprise software needs. The following known issues were reported as of
the release of this module. If you need further assistance with any issue,
please contact NetIQ Technical Support
(www.netiq.com/support).
- When running on CA ARCserve 11, the DeleteJobs and
RescheduleJobs Knowledge Script jobs require that the AppManager agent netiqmc service run as a Windows user with
"caroot" equivalence in ARCserve. Set up an account with "caroot" equivalence using the
ca_auth utility that ships with ARCserve. For information about how to set up equivalence,
see the ARCserve Help for the ca_auth utility. The ARCserve Help topic titled
"ca_auth" explains how to set up equivalence.
- On a CA ARCserve version 11 server, the cas_user_logs directory containing job log files is not created until the first ARCserve job is run on the server. If you attempt to run the LogFiles Knowledge Script against a CA ARCserve Backup version 11 server before an ARCserve Backup job has started, this Knowledge Script generates the following error: LogFiles script failed, Log directory not found: E:\Program Files\CA\BrightStor, ARCserve Backup\Log\cas_user_logs, Script Failed with Status =-21.
- The RescheduleJobs Knowledge Script does not reschedule completed jobs that are set to "Run now" or "Run Once". By default, an event is raised if the job fails. You can also set this Knowledge Script to raise an event if the job is successful.
- A SetLoggingType Knowledge Script job may generate
a "SetLoggingType Failed" event message if the registry key
UseEventNTLog is not present when the job is created. This
registry key is not created in the registry of your CA ARCserve
server until the Server Admin utility has been accessed and the
Configuration option has been selected.
To create the "UseEventNTLog" registry key, do the following:
1. From the Windows computer where ARCServe is installed,
open the Server Admin utility for the version of ARCServe
that you are running.
2. Click Admin > Configuration. The Configuration dialog
box is shown.
3. Click the Log tab. Select Enable message Logging in NT
to enable logging.
4. Click OK.
- When you select Scan whole log on first iteration, the CancelledJobs, FailedJobs, IncompleteJobs, and SuccessfulJobs Knowledge Scripts may take a while to return values for the first iteration (interval) run if the BrightStor.log is large.
- If you select Include Error Messages? or Include Warning Messages?, and also select Scan whole log on first iteration?, the FailedJobs and IncompleteJobs Knowledge Scripts may take a significant time to return if the BrightStor.log contains a large number of error and warning messages.
