UNIX Agent 8.2 Release Notes

The NetIQ UNIX Agent includes the following components:

  • NetIQ UNIX Agent Manager: A console and data store that you can use to manage all your UNIX agents’ components across your enterprise. UNIX Agent Manager runs on Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems. Most features can be accessed from a command line as well as from the console.

  • AppManager UNIX Agent: A component of the NetIQ UNIX Agent that enables support for AppManager and provides the managed objects for UNIX and Linux AppManager modules.

  • Common components: Components that are shared by the AppManager UNIX Agent and the Security Agent for UNIX.

1.0 What’s New?

This release of AppManager for UNIX Agent provides the following enhancements:

  • Support for AppManager 9.2: This release provides support for AppManager 9.2.

  • Support for OpenSSL 1.0-2j: This release provides support for OpenSSL 1.0-2j.

This release also resolves the following issues:

  • pam.i686 prerequisite check for 64-bit agent: The pam.i686 compatibility libs are not necessary with the 64-bit version of the agent. (ENG338661)

  • VigilEntAgent reports GLIBC errors: This release resolves the glibc errors reported by VigilEntAgent on startup. (ENG342601 and ENG344798)

  • Disk writing issue: This release resolves an issue in which disk writing was disabled because of limited free disk space. (ENG342993)

For the most recently updated list of supported application versions, see the AppManager Supported Products page. Unless noted otherwise, this module supports all updates, hotfixes, and service packs for the releases listed below.

AppManager for UNIX Agent has the following system requirements:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Server on Itanium (64-bit kernel, 64-bit agent): 5 and 6

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server on x86 or PowerPC (32-bit agent): 10, 11, and 12

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server on x86_64 (64-bit kernel, 64-bit agent): 10, 11, and 12

  • Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
