This version of the UNIX agent does not include files required for NetIQ Change Guardian, NetIQ Sentinel, NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager, or NetIQ Security Manager. However, this version of UNIX Agent Manager does manage other versions of the agent that work with those products.

What's New?

This release includes the following enhancements:

  • Delta Discovery. The UNIX agent now supports delta discovery for all UNIX and Linux discovery Knowledge Scripts.

Delta discoveries are more efficient and require fewer system and network resources to perform since they only send information about UNIX and Linux resource changes to the QDB. This is the default setting for any new discovery job you run. However, the first time you run a delta discovery job it will perform a full discovery since there is no previous full discovery to compare against. Any subsequent jobs will perform a delta discovery.

For more information about delta discovery, see the Appmanager Control Center User Guide on the AppManager page.

  • AppManager for Self-Monitoring UNIX and Linux Servers (AMHealth UNIX). This release of the UNIX agent includes the following Knowledge Scripts for monitoring AppManager resources installed on UNIX and Linux servers:
    • Discovery_AMHealthUNIX. Use this Knowledge Script to discover AppManager resources installed on UNIX and Linux servers.
    • AMHealth_HeartbeatUNIX. Use this Knowledge Script to monitor the heartbeat of the AppManager agent running on a UNIX or Linux server.
For more information about AMHealth UNIX, see the AppManager Modules page.

This release of the UNIX agent resolves the following issue:

  • UNIX Jobs stop running. With this release, the UNIX agent does not stop a job after one execution and raise an event with an empty Action tab. (ENG334563)
