Before installing the Device Service, ensure that you meet the following prerequisites:
All Operating Systems: To enable hardware device support from web browsers, a valid certificate of the Device Service must be installed to enable connections from the browser.
Windows: Ensure the Device Service certificate is installed on the root-CA certificate trust store, which supports browser interaction.
Linux distributives: Device Service certificate is installed on the system CA-certificates. As browsers do not use the system ca-certs, the Certutil is used to install certificates to Firefox and Chrome browser databases.
Certutil is available in the NSS tools package, which is pre-requisite to install Device Service successfully.
NOTE:After installing or upgrading the web browser, ensure to reinstall the Device Service.
WARNING:During the upgrade of Device Service on Apple Mac OS X and Linux, the configuration file is overwritten with the default one. Ensure that you have a copy of the file and put it back to the folder after the Device Service upgrade.
