2.1 Installation Checklist

The following checklist provides the GPA installation tasks and directs you to the detailed steps to complete each task. Install GPA by completing the checklist.

 

Steps and Related Information

Review the information about how GPA works. For more information, see Section 1.2, How GPA Works.

Ensure your user account has the necessary permissions to complete the installation and the computers on which you want to install the GPA components meet the minimum hardware and software requirements. For more information, see Section 2.2, Confirming GPA Installation Requirements.

Determine the GPA components you want to install and whether you will manage group policy using an untrusted or a trusted test environment. For more information, see Section 2.3.1, Determining Which GPA Components to Install. For trial installations, install all GPA components on the same computer.

Create the GPA service accounts. For more information, see Section 2.4, Creating GPA Service Accounts.

NOTE:Although it is not required, you should use a service account to install GPA.

Install GPA. For more information, see one of the following sections depending on how you plan to distribute the GPA components:
