Group Policy Administrator 6.9.4 Release Notes

Group Policy Administrator 6.9.4 includes what’s new, improves usability, and resolves several previous issues.

Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. 1.0 What’s New

  • Group Policy Administrator (GPA) product documentation has been rebranded from Microfocus to OpenText.

  • GPA now support Microsoft SQL Servers 2019 and 2022.

  • GPA now support Microsoft Windows Server 2022 and Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems.

2.0 Installing and Updating to this Version

Extract NetIQGPAInstallationKit.msi and then run Setup.exe to install or update the components, GP Repository, GPA Server and GPA Console.

3.0 Known Issues

3.1 The show all and Hide all links are not aligned on Windows 2016.

The Show All and Hide All links are not aligned properly in the Settings tab of the GPO on Windows 2016 box due to a Microsoft limitation on Windows 2016.

Workaround: No Workaround.

4.0 Software Fix

This version includes the following bug fix:

4.1 Risk of information exposure found on GPA server port 63847.

Issue: GPA Console makes a HTTP SOAP call to connect to GPA Server. An exception is shown when the http URL is manually run on the internet browser. Such verbose errors should not be provided to end users. Instead, a friendly static error page should be provided.

Fix: HTTP calls to GPA server are blocked. The communication messages between GPA Console and GPA Server are encrypted.
