NetIQ Earns EAL 3+ Common Criteria Certification for Identity Manager
Accredited Security Certification Demonstrates NetIQ Commitment to Delivering Secure Identity Management
NetIQ today announced that it has achieved a Common Criteria Certification at Evaluation Assurance Level 3 with augmented assurance (EAL3+) for Identity Manager 4.0.2, the company's Identity Management solution. Demonstrating its continued commitment to developing secure solutions that meet the stringent requirements of the US Federal government, NetIQ is helping organizations enable secure access to critical business services across today's complex IT ecosystem with Identity Manager.
Common Criteria is an internationally recognized security certification required by government entities (including US Federal, state and local governments) and enterprise organizations around the world seeking to procure commercial products. Organizations turning to NetIQ for control over their Identity Management lifecycle can now verify the evaluation level certification of Identity Manager 4.0.2 to the EAL 3+ of the Common Criteria scheme, as defined by ISO/IEC 15408, which addresses product functionality, development environment, documentation, and product testing measures.
"Federal agencies are held to a rigorous set of performance and security standards for any technology implemented in their infrastructure," said Michael F. Angelo, chief security architect at NetIQ. "In addition to supporting the FIPS Inside program and USGCB validation, Common Criteria certification reaffirms our ongoing commitment to meeting the unique requirements of our Federal customers for Identity Management and their successful adoption and use of our solutions."
NetIQ achieved Common Criteria certification through Electronic Warfare Associates – Canada, Ltd. (EWA-Canada), whose test lab is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and approved by the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) to perform evaluations against the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CC) under the Canadian Common Criteria Evaluation and Certification Scheme (CCS).
"This certification of Identity Manager is the latest in NetIQ's ongoing program to certify their products to strict international IT security standards," said Erin Connor, Director of the Common Criteria Test Lab at EWA-Canada. "Identity Manager has successfully undergone rigorous evaluation and testing in achieving this EAL 3+ certification. Customers that buy Identity Manager can be confident that it will be a trusted addition to their overall security posture."
