NetIQ Announces Advanced Diagnostic Capabilities for Multi-Vendor VoIP Implementations
NetIQ Vivinet Diagnostics 2.3 Rapidly Delivers Improved Voice Quality
NetIQ Corporation, an Attachmate business, today announced the availability of NetIQ® Vivinet® Diagnostics 2.3, the industry's most comprehensive performance analysis tool on the market for diagnosing voice quality issues within multi-vendor Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks. NetIQ Vivinet Diagnostics radically reduces the time administrators spend troubleshooting network-related issues impacting VoIP applications so that call quality issues can be fixed in a matter of minutes.
As today's enterprises make long-term plans to adopt Unified Communications (UC), they are deploying VoIP to anchor their strategies. Cohesive management is a necessity as are tools to ensure end user quality of experience (QoE) with VoIP if enterprises are to achieve greater business productivity and reduce IT expenses.
NetIQ Vivinet Diagnostics delivers patented functionality to help administrators quickly pinpoint network performance issues impacting call quality within minutes so that QoE can be maintained. The tool fully analyzes the asymmetric network path between the caller and the called party and gathers detailed performance data about routers, switches, links and voice gateways. From this data, it can create synthetic transactions to further quantify and refine the problem scenario. The end result is an easy-to-use, comprehensive report which isolates events, assigns severity and prioritizes issue resolution.
The latest version of NetIQ Vivinet Diagnostics features:
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 path tracing across complex VLAN configurations, allowing administrators to identify network issues that impede the continuous flow of packetized voice datagrams.
- Deeper support for Nortel hybridized Ethernet, router and switch data gear, enhancing management and TCO of pervasive Nortel investments.
- Integration with NetIQ AppManager® for Avaya Communication Manager, extending its patented network diagnostic and correlation capabilities as well as detailed performance reporting to Avaya Communication Manager implementations to instantly pinpoint call quality degradation sources.
"For VoIP implementations to succeed and serve as an anchor to UC strategies, administrators require tools that can quickly pinpoint poor service performance across complex multi-vendor networks with ease," said Erin Anderson, manager of Product Marketing at NetIQ. "By identifying, troubleshooting and prioritizing performance issues to prevent service disruptions, NetIQ Vivinet Diagnostics 2.3 helps administrators realize the benefits of VoIP while maintaining employee productivity and most importantly, achieving incremental cost savings from their VoIP investments."
