NetIQ AppManager 7 Named Best Management Product at MMS 2007
Core Systems Management Technology Heralded as Most Innovative Enterprise IT Management Product
SAN DIEGO and HOUSTON
NetIQ Corporation, an Attachmate business, today announced that the core technology of its flagship systems management suite, NetIQ© AppManager© 7, has won the Best Management Product by a Microsoft Partner Award for 2007. NetIQ accepted the award during the MMS Awards Ceremony held in San Diego on March 28, 2007.
Selected by the editors of Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine , winners of the Best of Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) Awards demonstrate and deliver the most innovative management products or services that directly benefit the Windows network environment. AppManager 7 was selected from a pool of over 50 IT management products and was chosen as a result of its strategic importance to the market, its competitive advantages and the overall value it delivers to customers.
"Competition was definitely fierce for this year's Best of MMS Awards, as companies continued to exhibit the ability to develop products that support the trend of IT automation," said Michael Otey, Technical Director for Windows IT Pro.
NetIQ AppManager squarely addresses the challenges enterprise customers face as they attempt to establish greater control over their IT environments. It delivers trusted management and support for over 65 industry-leading network devices, operating systems (Windows, UNIX and Linux), databases and mission-critical applications that drive and define the IT management challenges inherent to complex heterogeneous computing infrastructure.
This latest version of AppManager empowers enterprises with greater levels of IT management productivity and visibility to help overcome the ever-increasing demands of dynamic business services, virtualized environments and unified communications. As a result, AppManager 7 serves as the critical foundation needed for safely exploiting next-generation technologies, such as VMware ESX Server, Microsoft SharePoint and Exchange 2007, BlackBerry Enterprise Server and Cisco or Nortel IP Telephony (VoIP) solutions.
"AppManager 7 rolls 11 years of industry leadership and innovation into a strategic solution for enterprises looking to control their existing IT environments while planning for future technology adoption," said Chris Pick, vice president of Products and Marketing, NetIQ. "While Microsoft and similar competitors have played in this space for years and continue to follow a well-worn path, this recognition validates our commitment to customer-centric product innovation and our focus on anticipating the future demands of IT operations."
