NetIQ Improves IT Service Levels & Security with NetIQ Analysis Center 2.5
New release unifies systems and security reporting, delivers personalized dashboard and analytics across the enterprise
NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of integrated systems and security management solutions, today announced NetIQ Analysis Center™ 2.5 at its NetConnect 2006 Global User Conference. NetIQ Analysis Center 2.5, a key component of NetIQ's Knowledge-Based Service Assurance strategy, enables the aggregation, analysis and personalization of both systems data and security data through a unified console and reporting platform. With this release, enterprises are better positioned to assure service levels, comply with stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and confirm that critical business services are secure, available and performing.
Faced with increasingly complex IT infrastructures, companies are struggling to understand how IT services are impacted by systems performance and security events and then to act upon this information. NetIQ Analysis Center 2.5 enables both the IT operations and security management teams to quickly determine the cause of underlying issues that impact the performance and availability of critical business services and resolve those issues. Taking action on this information results in increased service levels, reduced management costs, and a heightened orientation towards proactively identifying and addressing issues before they occur.
As noted by Forrester Research, Inc. in its April 2006 report titled The Convergence of Systems and Security Management: "Combining systems information with security management means better visibility, cost savings, and higher efficiency when protecting and managing enterprise-wide IT systems."
New integration with Microsoft SharePoint also enables NetIQ Analysis Center 2.5 customers to enhance communications with the various stakeholders in their organizations by providing personalized views for different teams. Through the publishing of comprehensive service level reports and dashboards in SharePoint, the IT organization is able to demonstrate to the business their compliance with SLAs and a continued ability to meet the service needs of customers.
A common reporting infrastructure within NetIQ Analysis Center 2.5 offers a comprehensive view of an organization's IT operational health, service level metrics and security activities. With NetIQ Analysis Center 2.5, IT organizations can improve service levels and operational efficiency while cost-effectively meeting compliance and operational integrity needs.
"NetIQ Analysis Center enables us to gain insight into the overall IT health and performance of our systems so we can accurately anticipate service level needs and requirements," said Rob Jones, Director of Technology–Northern Europe, at ALSTOM. "Through our use of the product's sophisticated SLA reports, we can now assure ongoing service needs are met as well as plan for future IT needs across our organization."
NetIQ Analysis Center 2.5 provides enterprises with vital information, such as overall system utilization, service level views, and historical trending, targeting the needs of large enterprise environments. Key capabilities include:
- Unifies systems and security reporting – Provides increased service management functionalities, knowledge and best practice information, as well as common reporting and analysis in a single console that consolidates both systems and security management information.
- Improves alignment between IT and the business – Helps IT demonstrate compliance and management of service levels, as well as their value contribution to the business, by publishing systems and security management activities reports to management and other teams.
- Enables effective operations management – Allows IT organizations to improve service levels and operational efficiency by providing the views necessary to accurately secure and provision servers, as well as plan for capacity and virtualization needs.
- Provides deeper knowledge of IT infrastructure health – Provides on-demand trend and predictive analysis.
"As enterprise network systems become more complex, IT operations managers must be able to better understand more of those factors that impact service levels," said Kent Erickson, Senior Director of Product Management at NetIQ. "NetIQ Analysis Center 2.5 provides managers with a single tool that allows them to view combined systems and security data on a unified platform to help them proactively manage service levels and demonstrate IT compliance."
