NetIQ Announces NetIQ Group Policy Administrator 5.0

New capabilities provide enterprises with a more effective approach to managing and facilitating the Group Policy change process with Microsoft Active Directory

As Group Policy takes on a larger role in helping enterprises achieve their compliance goals, it is critical for organizations to more effectively manage and document GPO changes within Active Directory. Using an ITIL-like approach to GPO changes, NetIQ Group Policy Administrator reduces risks to the operational integrity of the environment and those associated with service downtime and availability. NetIQ Group Policy Administrator assists organizations facing the challenge of achieving compliance by providing a secure, offline environment for GPOs, where changes can be modeled, tested, approved and documented before a change is made to the live Active Directory environment.

  • After Hours GPO Deployment - Enables GPO deployments to be scheduled and automated to fit within the narrow GPO deployment windows required in strict change control environments.
  • Enterprise Consistency Enforcement - Maintains GPO consistency and addresses a major compliance requirement by allowing automatic synchronization of GPO changes enterprise-wide to eliminate a tedious and error-prone manual process.
  • Cross-Trust GPO Management - Provides centralized management of Group Policy, including domains outside of a trust boundary.
  • Advanced RSoP-Based Diagnostics - Facilitates troubleshooting by allowing customers to directly compare two RSoP reports to immediately see the differences in the way GPOs are being applied to both sets of user/computer pairs.
  • First level integration - Provides access to real-time Group Policy changes.
