At NetConnect™ 2005, NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of integrated systems and security management solutions, today announced that its VigilEnt™ Policy Center is the winner of the CMP Media LLC’s Network Computing Well-Connected Award in the Policy Management Systems category. In awarding VigilEnt Policy Center, the editors noted that the product was “the most mature, full-featured policy-management application tested this year,” and went on to say that the product “shines in creating and managing policy documents and quizzes, and overcomes less advanced archiving and rich-content features.”
The Well-Connected Awards honor the year’s outstanding technology products and services. They represent the best products and services the technology industry has to offer in networking. The winners are chosen by Network Computing technology editors from products that have been tested and evaluated in their labs. The complete list of winners can be found online at http://www.nwc.com/showitem.jhtml;jsessionid=00XJBCQPPLJKEQSNDBGCKH0CJUMEKJVN?docid=1608wcasec1
“The Well-Connected Awards are the only industry awards given by technologists based on real-world product testing and evaluation,” said Fritz Nelson, vice president and group publisher of the Network Computing Enterprise Architecture Group. “These awards take the pulse of the technology industry and reflect the best of what IT has to offer. This is an important distinction from any other award program - the products selected in the Well-Connected Awards are unique because they have been graded with the same criteria IT professionals use to make purchasing decisions - truly the most outstanding products and services available.”
“Recognition based on real-world evaluation gives customers a true feel for the quality of a product,” said Michael Steinmetz, senior director of Professional Services and Field Support at NetIQ. “We are so pleased that the first-class technologists at Network Computing realized the tremendous value that NetIQ’s VigilEnt Policy Center offers customers who are creating and rolling out policies in their organizations.”
NetIQ’s VigilEnt Policy Center received the Tester’s Choice award in a comparative review of Policy Management solutions in the July 21, 2004 issue of Network Computing Magazine, which qualified the product for the Well-Connected Awards.
