NetIQ Announces Planned Retirement of Jim Barth, CFO, Richard H. Van Hoesen to Become CFO
NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems & Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced the planned retirement of Jim Barth, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

(Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems & Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced the planned retirement of Jim Barth, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Barth, who has been NetIQ’s Chief Financial Officer for the past 5 years, has announced his plans to retire on August 30, 2004. Rick Van Hoesen, Vice President of Finance, who has been with NetIQ since March 2003, has been named to succeed Barth as Chief Financial Officer.
“Jim has contributed enormously during his tenure as our Chief Financial Officer”, stated Chuck Boesenberg, Chairman & CEO of NetIQ. “He was responsible for taking NetIQ public and building the financial, legal, administrative and operational organizations to support the company’s growth from $21.6 million in fiscal 1999 to more than $300 million last fiscal year.”
“Although I will miss being part of the NetIQ team, retirement provides me the opportunity to spend more time with my family,” stated Jim Barth. “After turning over the CFO reins to Rick, I plan to continue to support NetIQ on a part-time basis as well as work with other companies as an advisor or board member.”

Prior to NetIQ, Van Hoesen was Vice President and CFO at privately-held XACCT Technologies, and Chief Financial Officer at Micro Focus/Merant and Wall Data. In addition, he held senior management positions at Sun Microsystems and Teradata. Mr. Van Hoesen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Lehigh University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania.
