NetIQ Announces AppManager Performance Profiler
Blue Cross Blue Shield Maximizes Staff Efficiency and Reduces Operational Costs with new Service Management Solution for AppManager Suite
SAN JOSE, Calif.
NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems & Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced the availability of AppManager® Performance Profiler as a new addition to NetIQ's AppManager® Suite of products, enhancing NetIQ's overall Service Management solutions. AppManager Performance Profiler is a self-learning monitoring, alerting and reporting software for improving IT service levels, enabling companies to maximize staff efficiency and reduce operational costs. AppManager Performance Profiler extends the capabilities of the AppManager Suite by automatically establishing dynamic monitoring thresholds, establishing a normal server profile and detecting variations.
AppManager Performance Profiler, which NetIQ licensed from Netuitive Inc., gives IT administrators the capacity to identify abnormal system conditions before they become service-impacting problems. AppManager Performance Profiler automatically learns system performance trends, creates a server profile with baselines defining normal usage and generates alerts — including in-depth problem analysis and recommended corrective action. The software also assists in identifying the root cause of problems.
Because AppManager Performance Profiler continuously updates system profiles and only generates alerts when human intervention is necessary, IT administrators spend far less time prioritizing alarms and manually modifying alerting thresholds. In addition, IT administrators are provided with information that enables them to rapidly determine the underlying root cause of problems. AppManager Performance Profiler also makes it easy to perform workload modeling, ensuring maximum utilization of system resources while preventing server overload.

NetIQ also introduced today AppManager® for Siebel, an addition to its growing catalog of AppManager modules, and upgrades to two key solutions within the AppManager Suite. These new products enhance the solution's Service Management capabilities by providing expanded scope of monitoring, added management functionality, and enhanced diagnostic capability.
- AppManager for Siebel - AppManager for Siebel provides health, availability and performance monitoring, as well as reporting on such key Siebel application components as the database services and gateway, resonate load balancing services, Web server status, log file sizes, remote client sessions and overall performance, utilization and availability.
- AppManager® Control Center v.5.0.1 - The central user interface for many IT managers, AppManager Control Center now includes functionality for event management, job management and multiple list filtering options allowing administrators to more easily manage across a few or across thousands of computers and multiple AppManager repositories.
- AppManager® Diagnostic Console v.2.1 - AppManager Diagnostic Console allows administrators to remotely detect, diagnose and resolve performance degradation or outages. New enhancements add support for Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange cluster environments as well as automated troubleshooting functionality that automatically collects detailed diagnostic data starting immediately at the time of an event, and store that data for later viewing.

All applications are available immediately and priced on a per server basis. AppManager Performance Profiler pricing starts at $400 per server. AppManager for Siebel pricing begins at $10,000 per server. AppManager Control Center 5.0.1 is listed at $2500 per console and AppManager Diagnostic Console v.2.1 pricing begins at $500 per console.
