ITV Selects WebTrends On Demand to Tune into Customer Needs

WebTrends, the web analytics market share leader and a business unit of NetIQ Corporation (NASDAQ: NTIQ), today announced that ITV Sales has implemented WebTrends® 7 On Demand, WebTrends' hosted web analytics service, to gain a better understanding of its customer base by analyzing visitor activity on its flagship web site www.itv.com and its portfolio of other sites, which receives over 25 million page views a month.
ITV, the largest commercial television network in the UK, relies on www.itv.com to provide additional information to viewers on its vast range of television programmes as well as acting as a communication and information portal for news, weather, sports, dating, kids and regional data.
With the web site visited by 5 million visitors per month, web analytics plays an important role in feeding information back to ITV about what television programmes and web content viewers are interested in.
"WebTrends On Demand allows us for the first time to aggregate all the www.itv.com traffic across the many types of content we publish, giving us a 'total reach' view into the market through an easy, interactive application service provider (ASP) solution," said Colin Elms, head of publishing at ITV Sales. The decision to implement WebTrends On Demand came after a review of both software and ASP solutions from a variety of web analytic providers. WebTrends' longstanding partnership with ABC Electronic, an industry body that works with media owners, advertisers and media buyers, was also a deciding factor in moving forward with WebTrends.
