NetIQ Extends Web Infrastructure Management Solution with New AppManager Web Console and Modules for Linux and UNIX Environments
Comprehensive Portfolio Addresses Complexities of Managing Web-based Applications
SAN JOSE, Calif.
NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems & Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced that it is further extending its Web Infrastructure Management solution by delivering an update to the NetIQ® AppManagerTM sole and new modules to manage Linux and UNIX environments. NetIQ’s Web Infrastructure Management solution enables IT organizations to assure high availability, optimize resources and secure their business-critical Web applications and supporting infrastructure.
The updated AppManager Web Console provides a unified Web interface that allows administrators to centrally manage Linux, UNIX and Windows platforms and applications from Netscape or Internet Explorer. Support for Mozilla is expected to be available by December 2003.
Key features of the AppManager Web Console include:
- HTML Job Wizard which provides users with a step-by-step guide through the creation, deletion and management of monitoring jobs
- Java-based real-time charting of live performance information from Linux, UNIX or Windows servers and applications
- Command line interface support to drive AppManager with scripts for lights out management
- One-click maintenance mode to block out service level agreement data collection for servers that are down due to scheduled maintenance
With the AppManager Web Console, management of distributed infrastructures is greatly simplified because systems administrators can monitor systems and application performance from any Linux or UNIX workstation. It also increases IT staff productivity by eliminating the need to switch between numerous management consoles.
