NetIQ Extends Partnership with FullArmor
Becomes Exclusive Provider of FullArmor's Group Policy Monitoring & Administration Solutions; Industry's First Product that Answers the Questions: 'Who Changed What and When?' in Microsoft Active Directory Group Policies
SAN JOSE, Calif.
NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems & Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced a license, development and marketing agreement with FullArmor Corp.
Under the agreement, NetIQ becomes the exclusive provider of both FullArmor’s FAZAM Auditing and FAZAM 2000 software solutions focused on the administration, monitoring and auditing of Microsoft Active Directory Group Policies This agreement extends the licensing agreement signed in January 2002 in which NetIQ licensed FAZAM 2000 and rebranded it NetIQ® Group Policy Administrator™.
FullArmor’s FAZAM Auditing will be branded NetIQ Group Policy Guardian™, becoming NetIQ’s latest Administration and Identity Management solution. NetIQ Group Policy Guardian is the industry’s first solution that provides real-time monitoring and instant alerts when changes have been made to Group Policy Objects (GPOs) within an Active Directory environment. NetIQ Group Policy Guardian leverages and extends the GPO functionality and controls to all Windows Active Directory environments, including Windows Server 2003. NetIQ Group Policy Guardian allows IT administrators to quickly respond to unsanctioned GPO changes before they adversely impact the Active Directory environment. This is critical to enterprises because GPOs are a fundamental component of Active Directory and provide significant IT control over the security of Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers, as well as Windows 2000 and Windows XP workstations. GPOs also control end user access to data, applications and network resources.
Group Policy Guardian also complements NetIQ Group Policy Administrator, which allows customers to efficiently remediate and recover Group Policy settings after NetIQ Group Policy Guardian has detected changes to Group Policy settings.
“We are excited about this exclusive distribution agreement with NetIQ because it will ensure that NetIQ Group Policy Guardian reaches customers needing to audit their Group Policy environment,” said Bob Almond, chief operating officer for FullArmor Corp. “In conjunction with NetIQ Group Policy Administrator, NetIQ Group Policy Guardian delivers a complete end-to-end Group Policy management solution, backed by NetIQ’s world-class global marketing, service and support.”
NetIQ Group Policy Guardian provides:
- Real-time monitoring and alerting on GPO changes with notifications delivered through e-mail or pager for quick response and remediation.
- Rules-based monitoring parameters including over 100 pre-defined alert rules for each GPO that can be customized to any IT environment.
- Comprehensive reporting capabilities, with detailed reports linked to each alert, along with pre- and post-change values.
- Archived logs and an audit database provides a complete, historical record of Group Policy changes to aid organizational efforts in passing general audits and help ensure compliance with industry regulations such as HIPAA and GLBA.
“NetIQ Group Policy Guardian greatly complements our existing Administration and Identity Management solutions and addresses a critical customer need for real-time security event information,” said Rick Schell, executive vice president of Products at NetIQ. “By bringing Group Policy monitoring and auditing capability to market, NetIQ continues its leadership role in delivering solutions for IT administrators to effectively and efficiently manage their Active Directory environment.”
