NetIQ AppManager Suite Adds Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS

NetIQ Joins Red Hat Ready Program for Greater Linux Manageability

NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems & Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS providing greater Linux manageability to customers of NetIQ® AppManager® Suite. NetIQ also announced that it has joined the "Red Hat Ready" independent software vendor application program designed to further establish Red Hat Enterprise Linux as a standard enterprise computing platform.

META Group projects that 40 to 45 percent of new Intel-based servers shipped by 2006 through 2007 will be Linux-based. "Linux requires the same level of support as an any other production-level platform, thus requiring organizations to invest in staff skills, management processes and management tools," said Corey Ferengul, vice president and principal analyst, META Group. "To be successful with any Linux deployment, management must not be an afterthought."

AppManager is the only integrated solution to provide monitoring, diagnostics and recovery, reporting and analysis and automation for mission-critical Windows, Linux and UNIX distributed systems. NetIQ first introduced Linux management capabilities in February 2002 with AppManager for Red Hat Linux. Today, AppManager supports a broad array of Linux modules to manage Web servers (Apache, IBM HTTP Server, Sun ONE Web Server); J2EE application servers (BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere); as well as messaging and middleware servers (IBM WebSphere MQ, Sendmail).

NetIQ's AppManager for Red Hat Linux solution supports versions 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 8.0 and AS 2.1. It is shipping now and priced from $750 per server.
