NetIQ and Unisys Expand Relationship to Deliver Exceptional Systems Management Solutions for Windows Enterprise Customers

Unisys to Offer NetIQ AppManager Suite as Element of Its Sentinel Initiative

NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems Management, Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, and Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that they have expanded their relationship to deliver systems management solutions for Windows enterprise customers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Unisys will offer NetIQ® AppManager® Suite within its Sentinel Initiative which includes Server Sentinel and Application Sentinel—software that simplifies server and application management of Unisys ES7000 platforms and ClearPath Servers running on Windows. This combination of software delivers proactive monitoring, quick diagnostics and self-healing of the physical hardware, operating system and business-critical server applications such as Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server. In addition to using AppManager as an element of its Sentinel Initiative, Unisys can also sell the entire NetIQ product line through its sales and professional services organizations worldwide.

AppManager technology has been part of ES7000 server management since Unisys and NetIQ first announced their alliance in 2000. With the expanded agreement, standard AppManager components will now be included with Server Sentinel to enhance the self-managing capabilities for the Unisys platforms. Together, Unisys Application Sentinel and NetIQ AppManager extensions will offer broadened manageability including performance monitoring, application optimization and application discovery and management. In addition, AppManager provides compatibility to more than 50 cross-platform application management modules.
