NetIQ Adds Industry Veterans to North American Sales Organization
New Leaders Each Bring More Than 20 Years of Organizational Leadership and Success
SAN JOSE, Calif.
NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of Systems & Security Management and Web Analytics solutions, today announced new leadership in its channel sales organization as well as a reorganization of, and new leadership for, its North American direct sales force.
Michael Ragusa, Kevin Higgins and Paul Murray bring a combined 65 years of sales experience to their new posts at NetIQ. Each provides strong organizational leadership skills and a track record of sales success. Ragusa, Higgins and Murray all report to Mark Marron, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales.

Higgins and Murray, both of whom will have the title of Vice President, will lead a reorganized direct sales team. To provide even more customer focus and resources in managing sales territories, NetIQ has divided the North American direct sales team in two parts. Higgins and Murray will lead the regionally aligned teams.
Higgins was most recently at IBM, where he led a highly effective national team selling systems management, application development and database tools, while earlier he served Computer Associates (CA), progressing steadily from Account Manager in 1984 to Vice President of Sales and Global Accounts by 1997.
Murray, with NetIQ since 1998, has held a variety of direct and channel sales responsibilities, including stints as Director of Federal Sales, an organization he founded and grew; Director of Emerging Markets, where he opened NetIQ offices in Brazil, Mexico, Korea and Singapore; and Vice President of Worldwide Channel Sales, where he was instrumental in creating the company’s highly-successful channel program.
Ragusa will become vice president of worldwide channel sales, taking on responsibility for growing the company’s extensive family of indirect sales partners, including value added resellers (VARs), systems integrators, OEM’s and distributors. Ragusa’s background includes almost 10 years at CA, where he most recently was responsible for managing various channel teams in North America as well as driving worldwide OEM sales. Other responsibilities during his CA tenure included SVP of Services and Education.
Ragusa will be leading one of NetIQ’s best-performing sales groups. Over the last 18 months channel sales have increased from 36 percent to just over 50 percent of overall company revenue. Ragusa will build on this momentum by creating an ever-larger group of channel-only offerings and expanding into the small and medium-sized business channel segment.
