TechTarget Launches Web Talk Show for Enterprise Windows Professionals
One-Hour Talk Show Offers Technical Expertise, Witty Takes on Industry News: "The Bottom Line, Not the Party Line."
IT media company TechTarget today announced the launch of Win2000Talk, a Web audio program that delivers one hour of irreverent humor, combined with technical expertise, insider news, and vendor-independent criticism—all geared toward managers and buyers of Microsoft Windows 2000/NT enterprise systems. Hosted by noted author and technical expert Roger Pence, Win2000Talk airs each Thursday at 1 PM ET on www.win2000talk.com; listeners can also download audio files from the site at any time. NetIQ (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of e-business infrastructure management and intelligence solutions, has signed on as the premier sponsor of Win2000Talk.
"NetIQ was looking for a new and creative way to reach our target audience of Windows 2000 and Windows NT decision makers. We are pleased to extend our relationship with TechTarget through this unique program," said Rick Pleczko, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at NetIQ. "TechTarget has a strong following within this community and a reputation for vendor independence and editorial integrity, which provides a rich context for our messages. At the same time, Win2000Talk is the kind of fun, engaging, and educational program that we believe our customers and prospects will find very appealing."
The Users' Advocate
True to the program's tag line, "The bottom line, not the party line," Win2000Talk provides a forum for Windows experts to air their thoughts on the latest Windows technologies, trends, and news-based on expertise and experience, not vendor influence. Each show will feature opinion and often acerbic commentary from Pence's frequent co-hosts, Ed Parry, news editor of TechTarget'sSearchWin2000.com, and Dave Gabel, SearchWin2000.com executive technology editor. Pence will also interview industry gurus on a variety of Windows subjects—from security to deployment, professional certification and availability. Managers and administrators of Windows 2000/NT enterprise systems can draw on the expertise of the show's host and contributors for solutions to their most vexing Windows problems. IT professionals perplexed and peeved by problems within their enterprise Windows environments should email Pence at question@Win2000Talk.com.
"Think NPR's 'Car Talk' for Windows pros," said Roger Pence, host of Win2000Talk. "We're discussing a subject that our audience is really passionate about and we're adding humor and irreverence to the mix. We think they'll tune in every week to hear what we have to say—because they're going to learn something about a subject they love, and they're going to have fun doing it."
